What is Nu-Life Pitch & Resin Remover Nu-Life Pitch & Resin Remomer is a liquid cleaner that removes wood & pitch resin from clogged abrasive sanding belts used on wide belt sanders. It works on paper or cloth backed belts and works instantly. It is a water based alkaline cleaner that is non-flammable & biodegradable. Directions for Use: Cloth backed belts Mix approximately 5 - 10 gallons of the cleaner into a drum. Dunk the loaded sanding belt into the drum. The wood residue will come right off. Then dunk the sanding belt in a second drum with clean water. Once dry, its ready for reuse. -OR- Spray the cleaner onto the belt and rinse off with water, or blow the residue off with an air hose. Directions for Use: Paper backed belts Spray on Nu-Life Pitch & Resin Remover with a pump sprayer, or from the 32 oz bottle. Then blow off the wood residue with an air hose or spray on water to rinse the belt off. Can I clean the sanding belt while it is still on the machine? Yes, it is important to clean the burn before the belt is damaged. First, stop the machine and loosen the tension on the belt. While the belt is loose rotate it while spraying on the cleaner. After the mark is sprayed, use an air hose to blow the resin off. The cleaner will have emulsified the burned on pitch and resin. What else can it clean? Nu-Life Pitch & Resin Remover will also clean saw blades, drill bits and any other cutting tool which get resin build up. Spray the cleaner on and wash off with water. |
The past three years I've saved thousands of dollars on sanding belts. I've set up an area in my shop and every few weeks dunk the loaded belts into a barrel of the cleaner. After dunking them, I rinse them with water and set them to dry. The belts are reused about three or four times depending on the material I'm sanding. Dan Ferrara, Ferrara Design. |

This is a sanding belt from a wide belt sander. We dunked the belt into a barrel containing Nu-Life Pitch & Resin Remover. The top half of the belt was loaded with Pine, the bottom half is completely clean. The pine resin was removed within seconds. |
